With a massive leak just hours ahead of the big premiere of Rockstar’s latest instalment, fans are dying to find out what the truth is and what to expect from GTA VI. You can be sure that this addition to the franchise is set to be the biggest and baddest of them all, outdoing all the others in terms of map size and more.
In this blog, I’ve covered every little dribble of information you might hear, as well as a cheeky ranking of my favourite GTA games. Let’s tuck in.
From the leaked release and official release of the trailer, there’s clearly a story to follow with this one. The story follows a Bonnie and Clyde couple as they cause havoc throughout the city. The trailer shows scenes of robbery, car theft and many more GTA-style crimes.
The story revolves around two protagonists, which is a first for the franchise. The main protagonist appears to be female criminal Lucia making this the first female character to take the lead spot in any of the GTA games.
It’s still unclear if players will be able to switch between the main protagonists, but in true GTA style, this would make for an interesting perspective.
Since the first leak back in May 2021, fans have been arguing over what the map might look like. Rumors were going around that Vice City would be the only location, but the latest trailer certainly debunked that theory.
The map appears to start in Vice City, the Miami, Florida lookalike but graduates players from the regular palm trees and blue skies to places across the sea. The man himself, Michael Pachter, claims that Rockstar Games are taking its players internationally with maps from Liberty City, Europe and London.
The international rumors are not yet a known certainty. However, it has been confirmed that this map will be the biggest one yet for the franchise, combining the map size of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
One of the more whacky rumors is that this game will be updated after the release date, allowing players to upgrade and explore these new international maps. Essentially, many believe that the game will be released in packs for players to purchase.

On September 18th, the world of gaming stood still when hackers managed to manipulate the Rockstar system and release footage of gameplay, maps, the storyline and more. From elaborate shootouts with cops to elaborate robbery sequences, many fans are unsure what to believe and have been left unsure as to what this leak might mean for the franchise and its promised release.
Rockstar Games made a public announcement regarding the leak and has stated that the release will go ahead as planned, without delay.
Out of all the information released and leaked, hackers never managed to access the dates of the release. Rockstar Games has stated that the game will be released in 2025 instead of the pre-promised date of 2024 and that a more specific date will be given in the coming year.
The initial release of the game will be made available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X owners. With all the previous games, PC versions have been released after the initial launch, but there is still no confirmation that it will be the same this time.
Rockstar Games has always been strategy-focused, and when it comes to next-generation consoles, there is no exception. Its release strategy has always followed the same game plan, and there is no reason for fans to believe that this one will be any different.
PC owners, hang tight; you’ll get your moment.
I’m sure you’re all dying to hear my ranking of the top 3 GTA games, and it would be criminal of me not to share it with you. Here goes nothing; please don’t cancel me.
3rd Place - Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Hate on the graphics all you want, but this game really fed the Scarface-loving monster under my bed. The game was released a year after GTA III and featured so many cool upgrades that it deserved to make the list at least for the ingenuity the game developers showed in comparison to the previous instalments.
2nd Place - Grand Theft Auto: Andreas
I just really liked the swimming thing. This game also deserved a mention, as Hillary Clinton herself was as interested in the game as we all are. She may have launched an investigation into the Hot Coffee Mod, but we all know she’s a true fan.
1st Place - Grand Theft Auto V: Online
Perhaps one of the most popular games to this day, this 2013 version has a special parking spot in my heart. There was so much to do in this game. I spent hours playing it, and it feels like a familiar city each time I go back to it. A nostalgic choice for sure.
So there you have it. Lots of controversy in one blog. With all the rumors and leaks floating around, it can be hard to control your emotions with regard to GTA VI rumors. Trust in me; I have hunted for and gathered all the most reliable pieces of information. Are you ready for the biggest GTA yet?
